Six Nigerians Arrested For Illegally Entering India Through Night Bus

They admitted that they had travelled from Africa to Bangladesh on visas issued by competent authorities but had illegally entered India near Agartala on Friday.

The police in Meghalaya, India, has arrested six Nigerians in East Jaiñtia Hills on Saturday, bringing the total number of foreign nationals arrested to nine within a span of two days.

The Nigerians are Thomson Nwafama, 29, Chijioke Obiacha, 28, Desmond Uzochkwu, 25, Okoliegbe Henry Onyedika, 33, Okeke Justin, 32, and Chukwunyere Christian, 30.

East Jaiñtia Hill superintendent of police, Vivekanand Singh, said on Saturday that the six Nigerians travelling by night bus from Silchar to Guwahati, were detected and detained for interrogation, the Telegraph India reports.

He said, “They admitted that they had travelled from Africa to Bangladesh on visas issued by competent authorities but had illegally entered India near Agartala on Friday."

From Agartala, they travelled by car to Silchar, and were assisted by residents of both Bangladesh as well as India, he added.

A case was registered at Lumshnong police station under the Foreigner’s Act.

On Friday, three foreign nationals were detained and arrested in the same district and also booked under the Foreigner’s Act.

The modus operandi adopted by the three — one from Ivory Coast and two from Nigeria — to enter India was the same as the one adopted by the six Nigerians.

Edo Traditional believes and practices. My thoughts.

Every country has their own custom, believes, tradition and practices. Not just Edo people, however the focus is on Edo culture and tradition especially in the aspect of the women being the only one subject to take an oath (swear) of good behaviour as a wife  meanwhile the men could be more openly guilty of the same offence but the culture have exonerated the men from such guilt.

What is your take in this???

In my opinion, There are two way to go about this issue, one is to understand what a culture of a people is and two let’s see if the culture is still credible in this very time that we live in.

Understanding culture and how sensitive it is to any folks we would be careful not to just abolish it with our mouth without considering why and how such culture has preserve such people for a long time. Cultural law were actually made to regulate every aspect of their lives as a people and that makes them identical and it has been pass down from generation to generation.

Notwithstanding, the question of whether it is a fair culture for both men and women remains a huge debate since this new era we are living in, obviously it not fair for the women full stop. I then wonder whether cultural law ever gets amended just like the normal circular law that gets amends to fit the current situation. Just my thoughts. What do you think?

Live video discussion will soon come up let’s talk about it, what’s your view??

How Prophet T.B Joshua trapped me in Synagogue for 14 years, raped me – Woman alleges

In the wake of the heavy outrage against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA, over alleged rape and molestation of women, another woman has surfaced levelling similar allegation against the general overseer of the Synagogue Church of All Nations SCOAN, Prophet T.B Joshua.
Although, the pastor had since denied raping anyone in his lifetime, “even as an unbeliever”,  there were mass protests in several locations of COZA on Sunday with members and non member calling for his resignation.
However, the woman, who was on a protest in support of Busola, made claims that Prophet T.B Joshua trapped her in his church for 14 years and raped her. She showed a book which she claimed contained evidence against the cleric in case he denied.
In a viral video, the woman said she was trapped in the church for 14 years before the Lord set her free.
According to her, “This is not the time for make up, this is the time to address. I am also talking on behalf of other young girls that are still in the captivity of TB Joshua. 8-years-old, 14-years-old and 11-years-old are still there.
“Yes, I can say it, because they have money, connections, they can put people down. Enough is enough, if he thinks I am lying, he can contest it in court.”
Prophet Joshua is yet to react to the allegation.
